Meet Kellye Skaer, CLC

Hi there precious mama friends. Thanks for visiting Milk&Mom. You and your baby tribes are already precious to me and I'm thankful to be a part of your journey. I remember my first days with my new wrinkly babies in my hands. Trying to find our way together, memorizing every inch of them, and being utterly undone by their every move. Five babies have made their way into the world through me and every one of them grew my passion for breastfeeding.  I spent ten years nursing, and so much of that time within my circle of friends. Pajamas on, milk flowing, tears and laughter over our sleepless nights, new mom mishaps, and deep concerns of motherhood. It is a lost art, breastfeeding together. I talk to more and more moms with no support system, no nursing friends or sisters, and I so want you to have that. At Milk&Mom we want every mom to have the support and education she needs to have a happy, healthy long term breastfeeding relationship.

On top of ten years of my own breastfeeding experience, I went through the lactation program at UCSD and am a Certified Lactation Counselor. Currently, I am in the UCSD program to become an IBCLC. I have spent four years working side by side with Kim Feuquay, DDS helping babies with tongue and lip ties, this is the best education I could have ever asked for. If you have an issue above my level of education, I have a great community of contacts in The Woodlands to refer you to including pediatricians, lactation consultants, myofunctional therapy, speech therapy, and chiropractic care.

When I'm not helping moms figure out boobs, milk, and babies, I am investing in my amazing crew of 10! My hubs and I have seven kiddos together, a puppy named Finny, fish named Boogie and a hermit crab named Rocky, ha! We have a ridiculous amount of bunk beds, cook every waking moment, laugh at ourselves constantly and try desperately to lead the whole house to love each other and others well. I'm a sometimes runner, a library lover, a coffee drinker, and co-author of All The Feels: Reflections on the Emotions of Motherhood.  It's a great life full of ups and downs and I'm so thankful for my people.
